Heartbreaker 16-10

Sow pedigree: Heartbreaker x Goliath

Service Sire: Forgive and Forget

Due Date: 12/17/2012

Additional info: This powerful female comes from the first pig crop sired by Heartbreaker. Her mother was one of the trio of Goliath sows (2-5) we had that were full sibs to the Grand Overall Gilt at the 2007 IL State Fair Jr. Show. She blew us away from an early age and we knew she had to stay here. She possesses the traits Heartbreaker is becoming famous for being perfect in her build with extra extension and an impeccable hip and hind leg. We look for her to make quite the impact around here for years to come!!

The best 18-7

Sow pedigree: The Best x PSSS Goliath

Service Sire: Heavy Hitter

Due Date: 1/1/2013

Additional info: This young sow has made a huge impact in our chester herd! In her first litter she produced the Champion Chester Barrow at the 08' Team Purebred Eastern Regional as well as the Champion Chester Gilt at the 08' Georgia National! She also is the mother of Heartbreaker housed at Crossroads Genetics! She recently produced the 5th Overall and Champion Chester Gilt at the '10 Circle of Gold Pig Sale! She is also the mother of "Lucky Me" housed at Stephens Farms, and she just produced "Forgive and Forget" purchased privately by Crossroads Genetics prior to the Indiana State Fair!

Heartbreaker 33-6

Heartbreaker 33-6

Sow pedigree: Heartbreaker X The Best 20-7

Service Sire: Hitmaker

Due Date: 1/15/2013

Additional info: This young sow may be the best Chester White female we have raised to date from a phenotypic standpoint. She is the result of mating Heartbreaker back to his mom. Heartbreaker’s mom has quickly become our best sow in production and has definitely struck again with 33-6. 33-6 is one extremely wide made, heavy boned, big bodied female that can move all day long. She is dead level in her skeleton and has the added look and femininity we strive to keep in our Chester White females. We took this gilt to the ’10 Circle of Gold Pig Sale where she was Champion Chester Gilt and 5th Overall Gilt, but was too valuable for us to part with so we made the decision to bring her back home. She is also a littermate to “Lucky Me,” housed at Stephans Farms. We look for this one to be a big time contributor to our already successful Chester White program

forgiven 9-6

Forgiven 9-6

Sow pedigree: Forgiven x The Best

Service Sire: Heavy Hitter

Due Date: 2/1/2013

Additional info: Forgiven 9-6 is the McClaskey Family’s show gilt during the summer of 2011 and is a littermate to Forgive and Forget, our IN State Fair entry purchased privately beforehand by Crossroads Genetics. She comes from the best Chester sow on the farm in The Best 18-7. Watch for her impact in the future!!

Heartbreaker 9-5

Sow pedigree: Heartbreaker X Stainless Steel (6-5)

Service Sire:

Due Date:

Additional info: Heartbreaker 9-5 comes to us from a very strong litter farrowed here in the fall of 2011. She was the one we set aside for a keeper from an early age and never disappointed us throughout her development. She comes from one of the better Chester sows we have put into production here in Stainless Steel 6-5, who is the mother of the Champion Chester Gilt at the ’11 IN State Fair Jr. Show and the Champion Chester Barrow in the Open Show. We look for 9-5 to become a foundation sow here as she is so stout in her skeleton, athletic in her stride and deadly in her look. Watch for this one to show up in our pedigrees for years to come!!

no Problem 8-8

Sow pedigree: No Problem X Buck Cherry

Service Sire: Hacksaw

building block!

Miss Kitty

Ms Kitty 62-4

This young sow just produced our $5500 Champion Duroc Weanling Gilt at Duncan, as well as the Res. and 3rd Place Duroc Gilts at the Circle of Gold! She has also produced the Reserve Champion Duroc and 2nd to the Champion Duroc Barrows at the 2011 NJSA Southeast Regional, Reserve Champion Duroc Gilt 2011 NJSA Western Regional (Duncan Gilt), Reserve Champion Duroc Barrow 2011 IL State Fair Jr. Show, and Reserve Champion Duroc Barrow 2011 NBS Open Barrow Show.

S&L 37-10

Sow pedigree: S&L X Homebrew
Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Firepower

Due Date: 12/25/2012

Additional info: This spotted female was purchased from Scott & Bryan Bennett at the '10 CPS Summer Type Conference! We truly felt that this was the best spotted female available for purchase there! She is also the mother of Tadpole, our 2011 Summer Type Conference Class Winning Boar, housed at Crossroads Genetics and the mother of the 5th Overall Spot Gilt at the 2011 WPX Jr. Show shown by the McClaskey Family. Going back to the good Homebrew sow line at Bennetts', we expect this one to be a big time brood sow! Her added stoutness and power has us excited with expectations of being a cornerstone for our spotted program!

Spooky Chili 3-4

Sow pedigree: Spooky Chili x S&L
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 1/3/2013

Owned with Brian Ripberger

Additional info: Spooky Chilly 3-4 makes her way into our spotted herd via Jessica’s boyfriend, Brian Ripberger. He purchased her at the 2010 IN State Fair from Greg Hartman. She is stout in her bone, big in her muscle and has extra look and femininity. She brings in a different pedigree then we are used to so this should make her a special fit to our rising successful spot program.

Big Gulp 10-9

Big gulp 10-9

Sow pedigree: PSSS Big Gulp X Mountain (20-4)

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 1/7/2013
Owned with McClaskey Family

Additional info: SHES BACK!!!!! Big Gulp 10-9 is the 3rd Overall Spot Gilt at the 2010 Team Purebred Summer Jr. Show. We would like to thank the McClaskey Family for letting this one come back to Commiskey. With our recent success in the Spot showring we couldn't be happier to have her back in production here. She is extremely stout boned and massive in her dimension and correct in her build. With her littermate sister doing big things for us already, we anticipate 10-9 to boost our spot program even more!!

S&L 3-7

Sow pedigree: S&L x Big Gulp (10-9)
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Double Take

Due Date: 1/9/2013

Additional info: S&L 3-7 comes from the very last litter of S&L’s to be farrowed. He is a boar that has done a tremendous job of making excellent replacement sows for us. She is a daughter of Big Gulp 10-9 who was the 3rd Overall Spot Gilt at the 2010 Team Purebred Summer show and is a littermate to Dyno, our 2nd place spot boar entry at the 2012 STC. This one is so basic and good where spots need to be better. Extra flexible on her feet and legs, smooth in her top line, tall at the point of her shoulder with extra extension up front makes this one a key piece as we grow our spot sow herd.

Big gulp 10-7

Sow pedigree: PSSS Big Gulp X Mountain (20-4)
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 1/15/2013

Additional info: This gilt was our "Foundation Female" at the Inaugural Boilermaker Classic Pig Sale! We had the opportunity to reacquire this female from April Zeller after she showed her. April drove her to Champion Spot Gilt honors at the '10 Hamiliton Co 4-H Fair!! She is also the mother of Demolition Man, our 2011 Summer Type Conference Champion Boar, housed at Lean Value Sires and the mother of the 2011 IJSC Points Champion Spot Gilt. We anticipate this females contributions in our herd!

Tow Truck 1-4

Sow pedigree: Tow Truck x Leap Frog
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 1/18/2013

Owned with Jeff McClaskey

Additional info: Tow Truck 1-4 was the Champion Spot and 4th Overall Gilt at the 2012 Montgomery County Fair. She is one of the heaviest boned females that we have ever laid eyes on and once she hit the ring we started making arrangements to acquire this one. She is massive ribbed, monster topped and huge bodied while still being extra sound and athletic. Again another different pedigree for us but definitely headlines a powerful new set of additions to our spotted program.

Tadpole 3-5

Sow pedigree: Tadpole x Pirhana
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Dyno

Due Date: 1/22/2013

Additional info: When Tadpole unexpectedly died in the early spring of 2012 we went on a mission to gather up as many good types of gilt out of him as we could find. We fortunately found 3 really good ones that we felt would fit what we were looking for. Tadpole 3-5 comes from the potent herd that Derek Moore has working in southern Illinois and is a littermate to his $5,800 STC boar. Stout and massive easily sums this one up as we anticipate great things to come from her.

Tadpole 3-4

Sow pedigree: Tadpole x S&L
Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 2/1/2013

Additional info: Tadpole 3-4 was purchased from our neighbor and good friends Doug & Toby Harrell. She was the Reserve Grand Champion Gilt Overall at the Jefferson County Fair and brings to the table everything Tadpole became famous for. She is extremely massive and wide in every aspect you view her. She possesses the ideal muscle shape and expression for making barrows or herd boars and we couldn’t be happier about the potential she brings to the table.

Frogger 13-6

Frogger 13-6

Sow pedigree: Frogger x S&L 37-10

Stress status: Carrier

Service Sire: Bullfrog

Due Date: 2/10/2013

Additional info: Frogger 13-6 is one that we are pumped about bringing back home to Commiskey. She is a littermate to our Class Winning Spot Boar at the 2011 STC, Tadpole, housed at Crossroads Genetics. She was shown by the Zeller Family and we are gracious to them for giving us the opportunity to obtain her back.  She has the added muscle, look and power with extra stoutness to be a big time contributor to make spots better.

S&L 3-7

S&L 3-7

Sow pedigree: S&L x Big Gulp 10-7
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Stand Out

Due Date: 2/17/2013

Additional info: S&L 3-7 was successfully shown to Points Champion Spot Gilt honors on the 2011 IJSC circuit by the McClaskey Family. Furthermore, she is a littermate to our 2011 STC Champion Spot Boar, Demolition Man, housed at LVS. Her moderate, stout build and wide, flexible skeleton should be quite the addition to our up and coming Spotted program!!!

Cold Blood 20-7

Catalyst 1-11

Sow pedigree: Catalyst x Recovery
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Rock Solid

Due Date: 1/1/2013

Additional info: After purchasing the pair of Big Step gilts from Adam Beck in the spring of 2011 and seeing the immediate success they generated for us, we knew we had to bring another one on board. The 1 litter Catalyst was one of the deeper litters he had in the spring 2012 crop and being out of the really good Recovery sow that produced Outkast, we knew that would be the litter to pick one out of. 1-11 is one that has always been really heavy boned and wide in her skeleton. She is moderate in her build, deep bodied and flexible. We look for her to make an immediate impact and keep moving us forward to our goal of putting together an elite crossbred program.

Cold Blood 20-7

Cold Blood 20-7

Sow pedigree: Cold Blood X Fatal Attraction

Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Rock Solid

Due Date: 1/5/2013

Additional info: This outstanding sow has been quite the addition to our sow herd since we were able to bring her back from Georgia! She was a gilt we raised and sold in our annual sale down there and after a successful show career was given the opportunity to bring her back to Indiana and become a sow! In her short tenure here, she has laid a foundation for some power house replacement gilts and is a true generator! This one is a "no miss" female around here! She is also a daughter of "Sassy" and  has produced several county fair champion barrows in Texas along with giving us two of the best females we have ever retained in a pair of Wingman gilts. Be watching for their photos and big things to keep coming from this great sow!!

Coming Soon

Big Step 28-7

Sow pedigree: Big Step x Impulse

Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Rock Solid

Due Date: 1/5/2013

Additional info: After seeing the consistency of the Big Step litters at Adam Becks and buying 34-11, we decided we wanted to obtain a second Big Step daughter from him. Going through the younger pigs at Adams, we fell in love with the 28 litter and 28-7 made our short list from that litter. We love her muscle shape, added look and design and flexible skeleton. Being half Yorkshire only insures that she will be a great generator!

Snapshot 12-10

Sow pedigree: Snapshot x Big Step 34-11
Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Rock Solid

Due Date: 1/7/2013

Additional info: Snapshot 12-10 is the 2nd of the pair we kept from the highly anticipated first litter out of Big Step 34-11. This was probably the deepest litter we had in the spring of 2012 and this black headed gilt is a top notch representative of what this litter was. She grew up on the feeding floor in a group of 20 excelling the group thus earning her spot in the keeper pen. She, much like her sister, fits the mold of being opened up, sound, and feminine with extra shape. She too should be a key building block moving forward.

Kassi 2-10

Sow pedigree: Cover Shot X Fatal 87-2 (7-6)

Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Shoot 'Em

Due Date: 1/10/2013

She was a Class Winning Gilt at the 2011 WPX, Class Winning Gilt at the 2011 IN State Fair Jr. Show, Reserve Grand Gilt at the 2011 Jackson County, IN 4-H Fair, and a many time Class Winner on the 2011 IJSC Circuit. This classy black gilt has all the makings to be a great sow; being expressive but smooth in her muscle, stout in her bone and correct in her build. We have high hopes for this one to be a great showpig momma here!!

Wingman 34-11

Up Gray'd 6-5

Sow pedigree: Up Gray'd x What Else
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Shoot 'Em

Due Date: 1/15/2013

Owned with Brian Ripberger

Additional info: We don’t purchase too many gilts online, especially ones we haven’t viewed in person but when Adrian Brown posted the picture of this solid blue gilt we couldn’t get her off our minds. After visiting with him a couple times about her, we decided to go ahead and attempt to buy her which we were lucky enough to accomplish. This one was intriguing to us from a pedigree standpoint and also because we are suckers for the cool blue color pattern. This powerhouse female is half Berkshire being out of the $6,500 bred gilt purchase that Adrian made from Mauck. She is loaded with muscle and style and so sound and flexible. She matured into an absolute beast and we highly anticipate her contribution to our crossbred program.

Wingman 34-11

Wingman 34-11

Sow pedigree: Wingman X Cold Blood
Stress Status: Negative

Service Sire: Monster Quest

Due Date: 1/27/2013

Additional info: This beast of a belted gilt is the second half of a duo we retained from undoubtedly the deepest litter of crossbreds ever farrowed here. Her mom (Cold Blood 20-7) has become a forefront of our crossbred program and her grandma (Sassy 2-4) is the backbone of it! This litter consisted of several successful TX county fair barrows and we are excited about her and her sister’s (Wingman 34-8) potential here!

snapshot 10-10

Sow pedigree: Snapshot x Cold Blood (20-7)
Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Shoot 'Em

Due Date: 1/28/2013

Additional info: Snapshot was a boar that we had never been more excited about turning loose in Commiskey to take our crossbred program to the next level. We used him very heavily and couldn't have been happier with the results. This 10 litter belted sow comes from the deepest litter of Snapshots born last fall. She's a gilt that we leased out to Tori Weber to show on the Ohio winter circuit where she was quite successful winning her class all 4 times along with being named Champion or Reserve Hampshire two of the four shows. She is stout made, extra flexible and athletic on the move. She is loaded with muscle and body. She should definitely make an impact here and add to our imporving crossbred program.

Big Step 34-11

Big Step 34-11

Sow pedigree: Big Step x Skywalker

Service Sire: Chain Reaction

Due Date: 1/29/2013

Additional info: This powerhouse belted gilt is the building block we have been looking to add for some time. She was our $1,600 purchase from Adam Beck’s spring pig sale that possessed one of the deepest set of hogs we have ever seen at one place. The impression that Big Step made that day was incredible and this was our pick of all the gilts he had to offer. We love this gilt for her extra wide base, functional, sound skeleton, and massive, bold design. With the success we have had with Crossbred females from Adam, we expect this one to leave her mark around here for years to come!

snapshot 12-6

Sow pedigree: Snapshot x Big Step (34-11)
Stress Status: Carrier

Service Sire: Shoot 'Em

Due Date: 2/2/2013

Additional info: Snapshot 12-6 comes from a highly anticipated first litter out of Big Step 34-11. This was probably the deepest litter we had in the spring of 2012 and 12-6 lead the charge of a powerful set of gilts in that litter. We leased this gilt to Layne Lumely who went on to successfully show her to Reserve Champion Crossbred Gilt honors at the Tippecanoe County Fair, as well as being a class winner at the IN State Fair Jr. Show. This one sets the mold for what we are trying to mass produce here being wide and opened up in her skeleton, sound and flexible on the move, super cool in her design with eye catching muscle expression. We feel this one is destined to do some great things in Commiskey for us.

Lockdown 22-3

Sow pedigree: Lockdown x Detox

Stress status: Negative

Service Sire: Slingshot

Due Date: 2/4/2013

Additional info: This powerful belted gilt is one half of the 22 litter Lockdown pair that we retained. This litter blew us away from an early age due to their added stoutness and expression. Watching them grow we knew we had to keep 22-3 for her added heaviness of bone, width of skeleton and massive build. Being out of our Detox 6-9 X Big Ticket sow we know these 2 will generate and take us to the next level.

Coming Soon

Sow pedigree: Buc a Roo X Can’t Touch This (Ms. Kitty 62-4)

Service Sire:

Due Date:

Additional info: This Buc a Roo gilt was our 2011 Duncan weanling entry that we felt was too good to part with so we elected to bring her back home. Her mom is the really good Ms. Kitty sow who has put us on the map in the Duroc breed the last couple of years. We had yet to keep a daughter out of this great sow and felt 8-7 was the one that needed to assume that role. She is as good built and flexible as they come for a red one while being square and wide both coming and going. She is smooth and expressive in her muscle pattern and killer in her look and femininity. We are excited about putting this one in production here and look for her to write her own legacy much like her mother is!!

Magic Man

Pedigree: Illusion x Off the Hook 5-5 (9-9)

DOB: 7/20/11
Words cannot begin to describe the excitement we have about Magic Man! Not since Heartbreaker have we had so much anticipation on putting a Chester White boar of this caliber to work.  From an early age, he demanded our attention and did not disappoint us any day on feed. Fast-forward to present time and he is every bit as impressive! He is stout in any and every aspect you view him. Monster legged with great big feet and huge even toes. Magic Man is MASSIVE and wide in his chest floor while maintaining that width and squareness back to his hocks and to the top side of his skeleton. He has an enormous, bold rib cage laid in him with ideal dimension and depth to his center body. Magic Man is chucked full of muscle volume, dead level in his skeleton and flexible in his build. We feel this is one of the best ones we have ever raised and look for him to make big contributions to our herd. Take advantage of one of the really good ones to surface in this breed and add a little magic to your herd with Magic Man!!!

Heartstopper

Pedigree: Heartbreaker X OTH 5-5 (9-9)

DOB: 5/15/10

This guy is everything his daddy is and more! He is extremely wide based and heavy structured! Moderate in his frame and sound and flexible as a chester boar as we have seen in sometime! He is jet level in his design and ultra attractive in his look! This guy is wide and square off of both ends and strides out on a huge foot! He is also packed full of shape and muscle with a massive blade and forearm! We feel like this guys attributes are what is needed to make those winning show barrows! Females should be a outstanding too as his mom is one of the best young chester sows here! She was the many time jackpot champion in TX and 2nd to the reserve at San Antonio in '09!

Code Blue

Pedigree: Detox X Ultimate Force X Cold Blood x Fatal Attraction

DOB: 5/20/10
Stress Status:
Carrier
Code Blue is one that has impressed us from an early age and is the crossbred boar we had been trying to raise to put in production here. He is one that wowed us with his incredible width, added flexibility and impressive shape and muscle expression. His heritage of keys sows here (Cold Blood 20-7 & Sassy 2-4) are just an added bonus. Pictured as a yearling boar, he is one that is busted way open and comes at you with an enormous chest floor and leaves you with that same awesome width. Study this one on the top side of his skeleton and he huge hipped and monster bladed with grooved, shapely top. Stout describes him in every aspect as he is big shouldered, massive legged, and sets down his skeleton on enormous feet and big even, square toes. To top things off, he is dead level in his skeleton, flawless in his design and build and always has that up headed, cocky look! We couldn’t be more excited to have this one here working as his first litters look incredible! If you want to make it to the winners circle call a CODE BLUE!!
